Zumba with Gina ~ The Blonde B

Zumba with Gina

Holidays are all about letting go, having fun and, if you're like me, indulging in everything naughty, champagne cocktails, chocolate ice cream, a greasy burger or two!

After my wildly unhealthy holiday in Vegas AND a decadent Christmas, not to mention the looming bikini-wearing holiday, I thought I'd balance it out with a little healthy eating in Punta Cana.

The Iberostar makes it so easy! Fresh fruit and fresh fruit smoothies every morning: pineapple, watermelon, papaya, mango, banana, melon; omelettes and eggs cooked to order, a maaassive salad corner at lunch, freshly cooked fish caught from the sea that morning, lobster and seafood galore....

Iberostar made it even easier when they invited Miss Zumba Pro Gina Siegferth to get that blood pumping every morning with a little bit of Zumba.

If you have been living under a rock for the past 4 years, Zumba is pretty much the most awesome work out ever! It combines latin, international and reggaeton music with a fun and effective workout system. It's part of your daily cardio, it tones, it strengthens and most importantly, it gets those endorphins running through your body to give you a happy life.

Gina is a little firecracker that bursts with energy when that latin music comes on! She's from Ohio and has 8 years experience teaching Zumba. She got taught by THE creator of Zumba, so we were in good hands.

Mum and I joined the Zumba Party every morning at 11am without fail.

Zumba makes you shake your booty, move those hips, do lunges and squats - you salsa, cha cha cha, bachata, merengue, get down and dirty and makes you sweat real good.

Mummy B doing Zumba was like a fish in water, her ballroom dancing background clearly came in handy when doing the lating dances. I couldn't keep my eyes off her!

Gina was only a guest instructor so we were very sad to see her leave after week as we thought this meant the end of Zumba. But we were treated with a latin cardio workout instead organized by the Iberostar entertainers!

I even ended up teaching one of the dances we'd done to the entire class!

Of course Gina is ten times the instructor little old me will ever be but it was so much fun teaching! New career choice maybe?

By the end of the ten days I felt so much stronger, energised and I didn't feel so guilty about indulging in all the naughty things my holiday had to offer. Mummy B didn't look too bad either huh?

With classes and instructors worldwide you can join the Zumba Party anywhere!
Gina can you come away with us on our next holiday please?
